PRODUCTION of commercial vehicles averaged 8,162 a week in April, almost 10 per cent lower than in April 1966. Allowing for seasonal factors and the number of working days, total production of commercial vehicles was a little higher in April than in March, a rise in home market production offsetting a small fall in production for export.
In the three months February-April total production was seven per cent higher than in the preceding three months, with home market production up by one-fifth but export production down by seven per cent. Compared with the same three months a year ago, however, total production was down by nearly one-fifth.
