BARNSLEY HAULIER Ken Mallinson & Sons has expanded its fleet with three new high-spec Daf XF95 tractor units.
This follows the arrival of four new I-Shift Volvo FF112s in September 2005. Mallinson now runs 40 trucks including 27 tractor units.
MD Steve Mallinson says the firm chose the Dafs on price and backup. They were supplied without a service contract; maintenance will be handled in house."If we can offer third-party servicing well generate extra income," he adds.
The firm is due for further expansion later this year when it opens a 930m" warehouse and servicing area at its Scisset, Hud dersfield site. The 1450.000 building will he equipped with two test bays and will be to Vosa standard, with the intention of designated premises status being applied for. The warehousing is for the firm's contract with garage-equipment supplier Tecalemit.
