Stiller Group increases profits

STOCKTON HAULAGE and warehousing firm Stiller Group, formerly known as G Stiller Transport, has boosted its pre-tax profits by 10.5% last year, from £570,000 to £630,000.
This is despite a £5m fall in turnover to just over £60m for the financial year ending 31 December 2005. Operating profits rose from £724,000 to E1 .14m.
During the year the group acquired an additional 5% share in Stiller Sadler Tankers, taking the group's holdings to 75%; it also cleared all debts relating to the purchase of South Wales steel haulier Canine Transport,
The group's principal activities are transport and warehousing services. It was founded in 1954 by Gunter Stiller and now runs 400 vehicles and 900 trailers with 56000m2 of warehousing.
