I write regarding the letter from Peter Hinds last week about Hell Drivers and his wish to research this film which, apart from being a fine study of the Kew Dodge, also featured a considerable number of actors who went on to become famous in their own right (CM25 September).
If Peter contacts the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society it may be able to help. Its magazine did a series of articles on films containing trucks and there was quite a lot of interesting material on Hell Drivers,including the company which supplied the trucks and the depot.
There is one film I would enjoy seeing again, and that is The Long Haul featuring Diana Dors. Victor Mature and a 1950's Leyland Octopus. Despite seeing it sometime in the 1970s it has yet to reappear.
