• A parcels network has been launched with the aim of taking on the major players in the nextday market by using a network of 60 small hauliers Right First Time Transport has recruited 30 operators which put more than 500 consignments through the Eccleshall, Staffordshire hub on its first night.
Founder Keith Bates, a former accountant with London-based Courier Express, is looking for Midlands, Manchester and South East hauliers to join the system.
The network's traffic will also include three-day deliveries and consignments ranging from documents to pallets and awkward items not exceeding 5m in length. Each haulier is given a postcode area and gets paid for deliveries made within it on behalf of others in the network.
