The motor omnibus accounts of the Eastbourne Corporation for the year ended March 31st last show that the gross revenue in the 12 months amounted to £68,073 and the total expenditure (other than capital charges and special expenses) to £54,244, the gross profit thus being £13,829. After deducting interest and repayment of loans, etc., amounting to £9,086, the net profit on the year's working amounts to £4,743, this figure comparing with £5,745 for the previous year.

A Welwyn Spur Road.
The county surveyor of Hertfordshire reports that he has been in communication with the Ministry of Transport with regard to a proposed spur road (Hitchin and Bedford) to the. Welwyn
by-peas, which will enable traffic proceediag _to Ritchin. from the south to by-pass Welwyn. The importance of the suggestion is fully appreciated by the Ministry, and it is essential for steps to be taken so soon as possible to secure the sterilization of the land required. The length of the proposed spur is half-a-mile.
Wireless Aids Fire-brigade Work.
The fire-brigade authorities of Vienna have recently equipped a number of their motor vehicles with wireless receiving and transmitting apparatus to enable communication to be maintained between the staff at the scene of a fire and headqaarters.
