Wynnstay Group buys first Volvo in 12 years
Wynnstay Group’s agricultural division has taken delivery of its first Volvo for 12 years. The Welsh animal feeds producer has added to its 80-strong fleet three Volvo FM11-410 Triden eight-wheelers, which were supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials. Wynnstay says the manoeuvrability of the eight-wheelers is similar to six-wheel variants and necessary in tight farm delivery points. It has an 18.5-tonne payload and delivers 410hp and 1,950Nm of torque through its 11-litre engine.
C&A Haulage: it’s finally time for Renault
Maidenhead-based C&A Haulage has taken delivery of its first Renault Premium Lander 8x4 rigid, supplied by Renault Trucks South. The truck, which has an Optidriver automated gearbox and sleeper cab, is the first Renault to join C&A’s seven-strong mixed Volvo, Scania and Daf fleet. Owner Chris Antinoro says: “We are impressed by the Renault Lander’s fuel figures, and payload is better than other marques on our fleet.”

East Midlands-based hire firm Alltruck has taken delivery of 12 Iveco Stralis Active Space Super3 tractor units. Proving to be “very popular with customers”, the Stralis tractor units are powered by Iveco’s 12.8-litre Cursor
13 engines. MD Paul Robinson says: “We pride ourselves on the age, condition and quality of our rental fleet and, as a business, we specialise in offering a range of premium tractor units – the Stralis has lived up to this reputation well.”
Cumberland goes 100% Isuzu
Cumberland Reinforcements has bought its third new Isuzu truck, and now runs an entire fleet of Isuzu vehicles. The Dorset-based steel stockholder has ordered an additional 3.5-tonne Isuzu Grafter, with a similar spec to its previous 18-tonne and 7.5-tonne Isuzu rigids, fitted with a flatbed body. “We find Isuzu trucks are excellent for our type of business,” says MD Martin Cumberland.
