• Consideration of disciplinary action against Newcastle upon Tyne.based C&R Grierson was adjourned because North Haste) n Traffic Commissioner Keith Waterworth wants principal partner Christopher Grierson to appear before him.
The firm was called before the TC because of concern over its maintenance record and financial standing, Charles Weinder, for the firm, said it was a partnership between Grierson and the estate of the late Robert Grierson. Grierson's wife Susan, who played a major part in its administration, had just had major surgery and would not be working for six

Waterworth said he had chosen to stay at home and manage the business rather than come and answer the allegations.
Weinder said there had been a family dispute following Robert Grierson's death 12 years ago and Grierson had to be seen to be running the business properly as Price Waterhouse was acting as a judicial overseer.
Waterworth said that if Grierson did not attend on the next occasion he would suspend the licence and in effect the busi ness would be closed down, He needed the latest accounts, bank statements for the past three months and details of the overdraft. Grierson had the opportunity to submit these but had failed. The TC said he wanted to know what had gone wrong with the firm's mainte nance, and details of its future plans,
