When I started, we didn't have a lot of used vehicles in stock, but in January ex-contract trucks began flooding in," he says. "As a consequence we've been shifting more than 100 a month. We should do 1,000 this year."
That would not be possible without the support of the network, and he is pleased to see so many Renault dealers are placing greater emphasis on sales of second-hand vehicles. "That's certainly been the case over the past three or four months," he observes.
They are aided by Truckplus, he says. Unusually, it is an all-makes programme, which can be of particular help to a dealer who wants to dispose of a retailable part-exchange of a make other than Renault.
Dealers aren't obliged to participate in the scheme, but it is available at 27 sites.
"We don't admit everybody because there are certain standards that have to be met when it comes to, for example, the way in which Truckplus vehicles are displayed," he says.
