CM's used truck tests will kick off again with the Axor — a truck designed to fulfill the needs of the fleet user.
Next month sees Commercial Motor get its teeth stuck into used truck testing after a sixmonth fast.
Our intrepid testers will be checking out vehicles from all the van and truck manufacturers with Mercedes-Benz kicking off the latest round of tests with its Axor tractor.
No product is as eagerly awaited at the moment as Mercedes-Benz' answer to 9perators needing a 'suitable allround fleet tractor option' .The new Axor was designed specifically to address a defined area of the market rather than being just another evolutionary stage in an established range — 1 hence the anticipation as it emerges on to the used market.
It is now in its third year of production. Recent policy has seen M-B's Approved Used Commercial division direct its returning products back into its dealer network and although a fewAxors will find their way into the independent sector, most will be. available through authorised channels.
Our 'used test truck' will be an Axor 2543 6x2 tractor with a sleeper cab. Over the next year we will put all the major contenders from the last three years through CM's UsedTruck Test.
