SUSPENSION is now offered by Trucks (GB) Ltd as an option on the axle for twoand three-axle rigids or tractive units in the FI600 and series.
e main advantage of the system, rding to DAF, is that it simplifies ng and unloading. A special control makes it possible for the vehicle to act as a pneumatic lifting device, ling it to be run out from under a mintable body.
vel valves keep the chassis frame, ..:onsequently the platform, at a con, height irrespective of load.
e suspension is fitted to the rear axle, which is attached to the chassis by means of two special guide springs instead of the normal rear springs.
The trailing end of the upper spring fits in a guide plate on the frame to give sideways location, while the lower spring on each side continues downward, being linked with its opposite number by a crossbeam immediately behind the axle. The two air bellows are mounted on this beam.
Air for the suspension comes from a separate reservoir so that it is independent of the braking system.
Double acting dampers and an anti-roll bar are standard equipment.
