• Peugeot has launched what it describes as the only Britishbuilt, car-derived van. The 206 CDV is based on the three-door hatchback and powered by an 1,868cc naturally aspirated diesel engine producing 70hp (52kW) at 4,600rpm and 128Nm (94Ibft) at 2,500rpm.
It has a claimed gross payload of 525kg in a 1,280mm loadbed with a volume of just over 1m-3. Features include a standard half-height bulkhead and a concealed storage area under the passenger seat. Other stan
dard equipment includes an immobiliser, driver's airbag, power steering, adjustable steering column and seat-belt mounts, rear wash-wipe and a remote control radio-cassette. There Is also an impressive list of optional security and convenience features. including satellite navigation.
The 206 van comes in a choice of seven colours, including two metaltics, and is priced at L8,000 (ex-VAT).
