6.30am: Awake in Brussels after travelling over on Sunday afternoon for a meeting of the EU committee dealing with the digital tachograph. As "rapporteur" for the trade union side, I need to have a preliminary discussion with my opposite number. The meeting lasts until 3pm but I have time to pay a visit to the office that handles European transport trade union affairs before heading to the airport. The flight to Manchester is uneventful and an opportunity to study paperwork about "stakeholder" pensions for Fridays meeting. Home by 8.30pm. At least the kids are still up and
g we get to see each other.
