AN UNLICENSED Essex operator caught delivering building materials was lucky that his vehicle was not impounded. Instead he must pay a total of £648 in fines and costs. Wayne Golding, trading as Golding & Sons of May] and, Chelmsford, pleaded guilty to the offence before the Barking magistrates.
Anthony Ostrin, prosecuting for Vosa, said traffic examiner Frederick Linger was on duty in Cooke Road, Dagenham, when he saw a vehicle driven by Wayne Golding enter the checkpoint laden with paving blocks and sand. When asked if he held an 0-licence, Golding said he did not.
Golding told the court that he had applied for a licence but it had been turned down and he had now made a further application.
The magistrates fined Golding £500 with £148 costs.
