NEW cylinder head for use with liquid petroleum gas fuels has len designed for all Ford Transits powered by the two-litre ohc ttrol engine.
Lpg is said to be cleaner than .nventional fuel, reduce bore aar and increase the life of oil, ters, spark plugs and exhaust sterns. Vehicle performance mains largely unaffected, pil rage is impossible, and the war price reduces total operatg costs.
The optional lpg cylinder lad has also been developed r operation with lead-free els.
Lead compounds are normally lded to petrol to make it more itable for high-compression igines, suppressing premature !tonation and lubricating the lye seats.
When lead compounds are re moved, the lubrication effect is lost and premature valve seat wear can result from m use with an unmodified cylinder head.
This problem, however, is overcome by the new cylinder head featuring inductionhardened valve seats which are more resistant to wear.
The option is only available with manual transmission at a recommended retail price of £75 excluding vat.
