• Blackburn-based East Lai cashire Coachbuilders has re. introduced a low-height doub deck body to its range.
The first models have beet built on four Leyland Olympians for ex-National Bus Col pony operator Midland Red (North). East Lancs has intrc duced its low-height decker t satisfy demand from other fa mer NBC companies.
The next to be built will be on Dennis Dominator chassis, Eight will go to Crosville; fou to North Western and two to Midland Red (North).
These are the first lowheight bodies from East Lane since 1962, when it bodied ty Leyland Titan PD3A/ls for Leigh Corporation.
The bodies on the Dominator chassis will feature a 120mm-drop lower-deck gang way, and a standard Kirkstall rear axle. The front end layoi will remain the same.
The Midland Red (North) Olympians will be 4.15m high with 74 seats (45 upstairs anc 29 downstairs).
Interiors will feature bustype seating, and a semi-luxut specification with coach type seating and soft trim.
