• FERRYMASTIRS BYFORD/GILL
Ferrymasters has named Ken Byford as fleet engineer for its central European division at Ipswich. His brief is to manage the divisional fleet, handling servicing and maintenance. He has been the division's supervisor for the past five years, having joined the company in 1979 as a chargehand.
Ban-y Gill, who has been with the company for nine years, has been promoted to group engineer of the central European divison.
• RAILFREIGHT PARSONS
Railfreight Distribution has recruited a new manager, Ean Parsons, to develop its Freightliner terminal at Wilton on Teesside.
Before this, Parsons worked in operations at the Felixstowe and Birmingham Freightliner terminals, having joined Freightliners, which is now part of Rai'freight, in 1984.
• MOTORWAY TYRES BATEMAN/HURST
Roger Bateman has returned to Motorway 'l'yres as national accounts sales manager.
Mike Hurst has also reoined as area sales manager.
• CHRISTIAN SALVESEN NICHOLLS
Ian Nicholls is Christian Salvesen UK Distribution's new project development manager, responsible for preparing contract and distribution proposals.
Prior to this he was business development manager for Exel Logistics.
• WASTE MANAGEMENT EXLEY/FERGUSON/ GARTON
Waste Management's new area manager is Jon Exley, based at Warrington. He joined the company from NEC, where he started as traffic allocator at Cartransport, Luton in 1977, John Ferguson has become commercial manager of the Warrington depot. He joined the company from Polybau (GB), where he was national sales manager.
John Garton is the new commercial manager at the Kirkby depot. He was most recently sales manager of May and Baker, laboratory chemical manufacturers.
• NAWDC BAKER/HEWITT
Les Baker, vice-chairman of the National Association of Waste Disposal Contractors, has been elected chairman of the association.
Baker is technical director of waste treatment and incineration specialist Rechem International.
Roger Hewitt, group managing director of Shanks & McEviran, has become treasurer of NAWDC, and represents the association in liaison with government on waste regulation and legislation.
• HAYS INTERBOND ATTENBOROUGH/SM ITH/ FERGIE
Roy Attenborough has been promoted from general manager of the Minworth branch, to operations director of Hays Interbond, after 17 years with the company.
John Smith has become commercial director. He was previously regional manager of the Aldridge branch.
Brian Fergie, who was previously regional manager and financial controller for the Newcastle and Paisley area, has become finance director, after two years with the company.
• KBD AUTOMOTIVE MOSS
Ken Moss has joined KBD Automotive as director and consultant strategic planning. He joined the company from Ford, where he worked for 34 years, most recently as Ford Europe's director of light truck programmes.
• CENTRAL MOTOR AUCTIONS HARRISiBLAGG
Duncan Harris has been appointed manager of Commercial Motor Auction's newlyexpanded branch in Dursley, Gloucester. Nigel Blagg, wh has two and a half years' auctioneering experience, has been made an auctioneer at CMA's Shepshed and Mitchan centres.
• TRACO MOFFAT Traco, the road haulage and logistics company, has made two appointments at its Liverpool office on the Speke Freight Terminal.
Ian Moffat has joined the company as area manager, responsible for sales and operations.
New traffic operator is Sheila Ruane. She will coordinate import and export loads carried by the company'i fleet based at Felixstowe and West Thurrock, and will oversee contract vehicles, owner drivers and sub-contractors based at Liverpool and work for Traco.

Vic Martin is now UK sales manager (HGV Products Division) of Ratcliff Tail Lifts reporting to Campbell McKee sales and marketing director. Martin joins the company fron Fetter Refrigeration, where h was general sales manager.

CLEMSON/DONNELLY Central Trailer Rentco Intern; tional, the trailer rental subsic ary of Tiphook, has appointed Ernie Clemson as UK sales director. John Donnelly is now UK operations director.
• TANIKFREIGHT LAIGHT Tankfreight, the specialist third-party bulk haulier of liquids, powders and gases, ha appointed two new directors.
In the South West, John Laight takes over the company's Chepstow, Avonmouth and Southampton depots. Laight's experience in the transport industry include waste transportation.
In the South East, Tony Hampshire will direct operations at Greenwich, Purfleet, Grays and Heathrow. He was previously depot manager of the company's Greenwich branch.
