• County has launched a shortwheelbase version of its allwheel-drive County Transit. It is based on the Ford Transit 150 chassis rather than the 190 long-wheelbase chassis of the existing model; as with the larger vehicle, the conversion adds around £8,000 to the cost of a base Transit The County Transit conversion can be made on vans or chassis-cabs fitted with naturally aspirated or turbocharged versions of Ford's 2.5-litre direct-injection diesel.
This is a part-time 4x4 system using a Borg Warner transfer box; it incorporates power steering and the coil-sprung independent front suspension
