• Welling-based Rwdey Transport has had its licence revoked by Metropolitan LA Air Vice-Marshall Ronald Ashford after it failed to turn up at a disciplinary inquiry.
The LA heard that company director and transport manager Alastair McKenzie, was linked with a firm called Gatechase, which was struck off the Companies' House register in August 1988.
The renewal licence application — which had been refused because the company had not replied to letters — had been false, said Ashford. McKenzie had also been convicted of vehicle excise offences in 1983 and 1987. McKenzie did not fit the good repute requirement, Ashford concluded.
