triaxle tipping trailer for Sun Valley Poultry of Hereford which gives an extra half-a-tonne payload over the latter's standard 8-wheelers. It has a potential payload of 25 tonnes when regulations permit.
The fully pressed section construction of the Wilcox unit gives high payload with strength and durability.
The 10m (3 3ft)-long aluminium alloy trailer has sides of 1.8m (6ft) and a capacity of 39.6cum (1,400cuft). It is completely self-contained with Wilcox-Seadyke blowing equipment powered by a Perkins 4236 diesel engine. The body has two removable partition doors with three locking positions so that it can carry different loads and is fitted with Edbro DS18 tipping gear.
Sun Valley, gearing up for the expected changes in weight regulations, will operate the trailer with a Volvo F10 tractor unit to carry bulk feed from Allensmore near Hereford to their farms in South Wales, Buckinghamshire and Lancashire.
