THE summer is not the time to talk about ice warning devices, or is it? During last winter's worst weather we tested an ice warning device and it works. It is powered by the battery into a temperature probe.
The probe "reads" the level of air temperature continuously and when it drops to a point likely to create ground frost a warning light switches on automatically.
No matter how hot the engine compartment is, the device reacts to ambient temperatures. It serves as a constant warning that there could be ice ahead.
In our experience it met the claim of the manufacturers Univers! Products (Hull) Ltd., 100-102 Anlaby Road, Kingstonupon-Hull, North Humberside HU3 2JE.
