• Hammerite Products can now supply portable fire extinguishers from a range made by Kidde.
The models in the range suitable for vehicles include the Kidde Auto, the Fireaway 110, the Fireaway 5 and the Kidde PROS. The smallest unit is manufactured to BS5423 and carries a 21 BCE rating, meaning it can be used to tackle fires involving liquids (oil and solvents), gases (where no risk of explosion is involved) and electrical fires.
The Fireaway 110 is for carbonaceous fires as well as those involving textiles, wood, paper or rubber. The two larger units are similarly specified but benefit from additional features such as pressure gauges and mounting straps.
