A BUYER IS being sought to save 82-year-old timber haulier F W Mason & Sons after the company was forced into administration.
Colwick, Notts-based Mason, trading as Masons Timber Products, appointed Christopher White and Andy Wood of The P&A Partnership as joint administrators on 25 March.
However, the distributor is still trading as a going concern.
Wood says: “The company had been hit by a number of factors, including rising fuel costs, lack of inance to modernise the business, and loss of long-standing customers to the multiples.” Wood is hoping the irm will attract investors. “There is a good core business, and we believe that by continuing to trade we have the best chance of inding a buyer.” The family-run operator has an O-licence for 25 vehicles and 10 trailers.
