• This year's heating and insulation test was a disappointment: three of the seven vehicleE had problems with their heater operation. In the case of the Daf and the Iveco our difficulty lay wil the controls an the Oaf's case du to lack of documentation and knowledge of the brand new system-the MAN sirn ply failed t respond). It was a shame that WE couldn't test all the functions on the Oaf heater properly in time, e it was the only one based on the engine coolant system, which is E elegant idea in theory. We must commend the service from Eberspacher-an engineer arrived in double-quick time-bt he should not have been needed.
With so few vehicles playing ball, it wasn't practicable to conduct a worthwhile test. However, the Mercedes and Volt performed well enough and the Renault seemed to pump out a tremendous amount of heat, repeating its performance from last year.
