MERCEDES-BENZ IS to supply the Canadian Army with a fleet of armoured trucks.
The Canadian Defence Ministry has ordered 82 Actroses, with the option of a further 26. The Armoured Heavy Actros (A HA) is an 8x8 vehicle equipped with a high-torque engine rated at 503hp. Poweris transmitted via a 16-speed box with diff-locks.
Claimed gradeability is 70%. The AHA can wade through water up to 750mm as delivered; this can be upgraded to 1,200mm.
The armoured cab is designed to withstand bullets, mines and roadside bombs.
