• Vehicle advertising company RoadAds has signed up Abbey National as the first company to use its mobile billboard scheme. Adverts will be displayed on trucks, with operators being paid per trailer for the duration of the campaign.
Twenty-five trucks will be used to promote Abbey's financial services across the South-East.
Lorraine March, finance and public relations administrator at fresh produce haulier Keyrnark Services in Kent says: "It will provide us with extra revenue towards fuel costs without costing us anything, which is excellent news given current rate decreases.
"It took only three days to cover eight of our vehicles with posters for the threemonth campaign. They can then be taken off and the next advertisement put on our vehicles."
RoadAds claims that trailerside advertising will provide operators with an additional "straight-to-the-bottom-line income without disruption to their schedule".
It estimates that a 100-vehicle fleet could make almost £250000 from a 12-month campaign,
