• The Road Haulage Association is calling for urgent action on haulage costs, congestion, enforcement and the environment in its manifesto for the next Parliament.
"Lorry costs and taxation are too high," says the RHA. It claims this is damaging the UK's competitive position.
The UK's inadequate road network is another key issue that Government must address. it says, along with the need for tougher enforcement such as impounding.
A copy of the manifesto is being forwarded to every "serious" Parliamentary candidate in the general election.
