• The man who helped Ken Livingstone — launch congestion charging, Transport for London's (TfL) managing director of street management Derek Turner, has left TfL to head up a new transport

leadership on road-pricing and traffic management schemes.
Bob Kiley London's transport commissioner says: "This business is a tremendous opportunity for the Mayor and TfL, and for Derek to use his knowledge and experience of congestion charging to benefit the UK and around the world."
TfL says that as a result of Turner's departure, it will now reorganise the way it manages London and traffic. It will now move management of London's streets to the current managing director of surface transport, Peter Hendy.
