OPERATORS CAN NOW take advantage of an accident analysis service free from road safety campaign group Brake.
Brake has set up the online service with consultancy Interactive Driving Services (IDS); the initiative is bang funded by the Department for Transport.
A Brake spokesman says the service will enable operators to compare information about their accidents with other operators to see how they might become safer.
Dr Will Murray, research director at IDS, says: Our research around the world has shown over and over again that effective reporting, recording and analysis of collision data is one of the key elements of successful road safety programmes. If you cannot measure something, how can you improve it?" he asks.
"Effective collision analysis and benchmarking allows sensible, targeted, data-led interventions to be implemented on the basis of risk."
