GMB wants loyalty payments for 3663 workers
The Oxfordshire-based firm recently lost a legal battle to retain a E300m contract with the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
The GMB says most of the 3663 jobs involved with this contract are likely to be transferred to Purple Foodservice Solutions (PFS), which will take over the work in October. But the union fears that 40 staff at 3663's depot in Dundonald, Ayrshire may he made redundant with further redundancies possible at its Basingstoke site. G MB senior organiser Ian King reports that he will he looking for financial compensation from 3663 for any workers who are forced to transfer to a new site "As a negotiator he lookinE for some sort of loyalty payment for those who have worked very successfully on the contract foi the past nine years."
3663 handled most of the Moll work from its Basingstoke depot the depot will now service other contracts, but 30 workers from Basingstoke will have to switch to its Petersfield depot some 2f miles away 3663 could not be reached foi comment as CM went to press.
