SEAFIELD LOGISTICS, based in Worksop, has invested more than El m in new equipment for its bulk powder operation.
It has taken on 13 new Mercedes Axor 2546LS 6x2 tractor units in 3 contract-hire deal. They feature long-distance sleeper cabs, air:Tin, Teligent gear shifting. full lir management and Gardner Denver integrated blowing and tipping equipment.
Seafield has also invested in four new 45m' Kassbohrer tipping powder tankers to transport powdered dolomite; they are fitted with front and rear vibration motors to enable quicker and cleaner discharge.
Should the load be slightly damp and loath to move, the driver simply switches the motors on at the rear, shaking the tank and freeing the wet powder. "We save 15 to 20 minutes on every load," says fleet service manager Doug Bosson.
