4% • A licence re
newal hearing has Tony Williams Traction Services to pay back duty.
Williams had applied to renew his licence for four vehicles and four trailers. He told South Wales Deputy Traffic Commissioner Gerrard Sullivan that a vehicle had been used when taxed at the private light goods rate for financial reasons: two companies he had dealt with had gone bankrupt in 1990.
Williams said that the firm's financial position was improving and he would be able to pay the outstanding back duty the following week. Adjourning the proceedings until 17 December, Sullivan said he would be prepared to renew the licence if the back duty had been paid.
