HEAVY DUTY SYSTEMS
Genuine marks
• ROR-Rockwell is taking precautions to ensure that operators can tell its genuine parts from imitations. Brake drums now carry a green 'ROR Original Part' mark.

Bar reading
• Leyland Daf has adapted its Logiq on-board computer system to incorporate a bar code reader, which avoids the need for delivery notes.
The reader — a credit card-sized stainless steel disc — scans bar codes on parcels and passes the information to the cab terminal which in turn is downloaded to a mainframe computer.
For use on existing Logiq terminals it costs £160 (ex-VAT); for new customers a terminal and a bar code reader costs £265 (ex-VAT).

Hand pumping
