BULLET EXPRESS says it is on the acquisition trail this year and is considering buying a freight forwarding company.
The firm – based in Bothwell, Lanarkshire – increased its turnover by 10% to £6.2m last year and has invested more than £130,000 in a second, drive-through, 5,000ft2 canopy at its yard.
MD David McCutcheon says: “While 2010 was a tough year, it was a very successful year for the company because we increased turnover by 10%.
“This will now be used to strengthen our position in Scotland by employing high-quality staff or buying a freight forwarding company.” McCutcheon tells CM the company has started “scouring the Scottish market” for the right target.
“We need to increase the full loads from Scotland to England as we do have space on threeto four-nightly southbound trunks going down to collect contracted freight for distribution in Scotland.“
