THE proposed purchase of Gough's Welsh Motorways, Ltd., Monntain Ash, by the Rhondda Tramways Co„ Ltd.,.'ha'ving failed to materialize, The Commercial Motor is now informed that the Gough enterprise has been acquired by Red and White Services, Ltd., Chepstow. The transfer became effective on Tuesday night (December 31);
In addition, the Red and White company, through its associate, Eclipse Saloon Services, Ltd., Swansea, acquires the services of the Neath Omnibus Co., Ltd.
The Neath Omnibus Co., Ltd., runs buses in the Dulais Valley mining dis tricts and the Neath area, whilst Gough's services cover the Aberdare, Mountain Ash, Pontypridd and Cardiff routes and North Glamorgan generally. In addition, the Gough concern has an extensive summer daily coach service to Aberystwyth and other West Wales resorts from Cardiff and the Glamorgan mining valleys.
Following this deal, new Red and White headquarters are shortly to be opened at Cardiff. It is understood that in February a block of garages, etc., now being erected in Westgate Street, Cardiff, will be taken over by the Red and White company.
