TOLLS at the two Mersey Tunnels, which handle more than 20 million vehicle journeys a year, were increased on June 1 — the first increase since November 1975.
The increases, designed to reduce financial losses on the tunnels, will mean the toll for coaches and goods vehicles exceeding three tons unladen will be 60p (up 10p) and for cars and light vehicles not exceeding three tons unladen 25p (up 5p).
