SO CM describes John Bridge as "uninspired" when he suggests the RHA and FTA have not been robust enough when dealing with the government (CM27 May). Well I have been rather uninspired by what both trade associations have done for this industry
I am sick and tired of the cosymg-up attitude we see every time a major issue is forced upon us by our government.
We are being laughed at and there's no-one in my mind that's nipping it in the bud.
Perhaps Mr Bridge does not advocate direct action over the cost of fuel, but there are many, many people who will take the opportunity to show the government that freight transport is not just the lifeblood of our economy but also has enough muscle to bring about real change.
It's to Mr Bridge's credit that he's seen the writing on the wall; British Hauliers might just change our lives for the better.
Haulage isn't working and this will continue until John Bridge and his supporters start grabbing Blair and his cronies by the proverbials and get us all a fairer deal. Tom Bullimer E Sussex
