A Gwent operator has reverted to being a oneman-band after problems with man management led to his vehicles being issued with prohi ebition notices.
Stuart Bowman, trading as Vtrans of Newport, had been called before Welsh Deputy Traffic Commissioner Alan Jenkins, who heard that Bowman had two visits from the Vehicle Inspectorate last year, with the second check showing a vast improvement.
Vehicle examiner Wayne Price said that between the two visits in May and November last year Bowman changed his maintenance from outside contractors to in-house and implemented a drivers' defect
reporting system, although a nil defect system had yet to be introduced.
"I have now returned to a one-man outfit with no employees. I only have one articulated vehicle in possession. I don't have any excuse for what has gone wrong, but I feel I have taken the right steps now."
