ARLINGTON Motor Holdings chairman Mr N. C. N. Housden said in a statement last week that the group trading was on a par with the first quarter results of last year.
He said that he expected truck sales to pick up and he thought it must unlikely that things would deteriorate as they did at the end of last year.
Mr Housden reported that turnover and gross profit were up but cost inflation has extinguished all the increased profits.
Arlington had bought the Kingsthorpe Garage at North.ampton giving them a foothold in an expanding area, said Mr Housden and gave them more strength in their car retailing operations.
