• A group training scheme designed for furniture removers is being prepared by members of the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers in the North West. Thought to be the first scheme of its kind in the country, it is to be known as the Manchester and District Furniture Removers Group Training Association.
Currently 16 removal firms with some• 300 employees have agreed to join the scheme, which is open to firms whether or not they belong to NAFWR. The chairmandesignate is Mr. G. Bowie of Bowies (Altrincham) Ltd.
Plans for a similar scheme for the Liverpool and Merseyside district are being formulated.
