• A uniform licensing scheme is being • • drawn up by the RI-IA to meet the new • situation created by the Transport Act • • 1968. All members will receive, with • out extra cost, assistance in completing • • application forms for operators' • licences and variations. • • Additional services will be provided • at the option of members for an addi • tional annual fee. They include professional services in the pursuance of ap piications, whether or not they attract objections from sources other than the R HA;• and the defence of members in prosecutions for traffic offences in ma. gistrates courts.
Separate licensing schemes have been established for some time in many areas. They will continue while the present licensing system remains in force for large goods vehicles but will eventually be wound up.
