MILLIONS of gallons of fuel are wasted each year through badly tuned engines, according to Champion Sparking plug Co which is to run a sixmonth series of "tune-up clinics".
The clinics— first one is at Crawley, Sussex, April 7-11
will offer drivers a free tune-up diagnosis, covering 20 engine parts, including checks on battery volts, ignition timing, contact breaker points action and carburation.
Vehicles up to the size of Transit vans will be eligible for the tests and reports will be issued.
Among other places to be visited by the mobile, tuneup clinics are Gillingham,
(Kent); Southampton, Newport, Coventry, Nottingham, Stoke-onTrent, Liverpool, Paisley and Stockton.
