• Corrocoat of Leeds is offering its Corroglas AR4 coating For tankers carrying a range of highly corrosive liquids.The latest road tanker to use it is from Nickerson Chemicals of Dewsbury.
• Esso has ordered 21 Friaxle 40,400-litre Fruehauf tankers. All are air-suspended, six-compartment aluminium units with bottom loading and vapour recovery.
• Sheffield-based VT Plastics is marketing the latest range of Meyercord high-tensile vinyls. It offers a choice of permanent, removable and repositionable adhesives. All can be screenprinred and suit computerised logo/letter cutting equipment.
• Bibby Distribution's Nisaway subsidiary has added five Southfields 13.6m GRP triaxle boxvans to its trailer fleet. They are RO-R air sprung and have Ratcliff 1,500kg tail-lifts.

• Two 25,500-litre (5,600 gal) Vallely vacuum tankers for Wistech have Safewalk Systems' air operated safety rails fitted. They operate from ground level and apply the trailer brakes simultaneously.
• John G Russell of Glasgow has fitted Coverguard alarmed curtains to one of its 13.6m trailers to protect his loads. The system uses bonded acrylic woven panels with transmitters and an alarm.
