opportunities for bulk milk carriers following this week's announcement of a new co-operative between farmers in England and Wales and Northern Foods.
The Northern Milk Partnership will compete with Milk Marque—the Milk Marketing Board's successor. The MMB's statutory powers are scheduled to end in October 1994, but could be brought forward to April.
Northern Foods currently uses 12 hauliers, including Wincanton, to collect 65 billion gallons of milk annually from farmers and deliver to factories in the North, Midlands, West and London.
