THE 2010 CV OPERATOR Show is not just about selling trucks for Midlands lveco dealer Guest Trucks it's also about selling the services it can provide for trucks.
Guest divisional managing director Rob Spittle says: "The reason we are going is because of the way the show is developing. Historically, it was all about products, but its about more than that now, and we supply a whole range of services repairs, bodyshop, parts and so on which we will be pushing."
Spittle, who describes 2009 as a year of 'a quarter and three-quarters', with the first quarter enjoying a benevolent "hangover" of orders from 2008 before sales plummeted, expects 2010 to be tough, but show modest improvement.
He adds: "The van market is showing signs of improving, both in enquiries and in sales, but trucks are still difficult. I think people are hanging on to the vehicles and paying the maintenance cost rather than getting new ones."
