IVIEMBERS of the Transport Users
Consultative Committee for the London area have been appointed by the Minister of Transport, their term of office ending on October 31, 1965. They are: Mr. L. G. Burleigh, Mr. A. R. Akers, CHI. G. Allison-Beer, County Alderman Mrs. D. Bolton, Mr. R. H. Champkin, Mr. R. G. R. Daniels, Mr. E. J. Hammond, Mr. G. H. Harris, Mr. D. T. Harrison-Sleap, County Councillor A. B. Howardb Lt.-Col. A. Jardine, Mr. J. A. McMullen, Mrs. A. E. O'Connor, Mr. H. T. Parkin, Mrs. D. R. Robinson, County Alderman B. H. Rockman, Cllr. H. H. Sandford, Mr. S. Turner, Mr, F. G. Varcoe and County Councillor F. W. Walker.
Among the new members in the above list, Mr. R. H. Champkin is transport manager of Laporte Chemicals Ltd., and
vice-chairman of the Luton chamber of commerce transport committee; Mr. G. H. Harris is head of the general services division of Shell International Petroleum Co. Ltd., and chairman of a sub-committee of the London Travel Committee; Lt.-Col. A. Jardine is chairman of Middlesex C.C. highways committee and a member of the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee; and Mr. J. A. McMullen is transport officer of Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd„ chairman of the traffic committee of the Association of British Chemical Manufacturers and a member of the Transport Users Policy Committee of the Federation of British Industries..
The London area committee is established under Section 56 of the Transport Act, 1962. Its offices are at 22 Palace Chambers, Bridge Street, Westminster, London, S.W.1.
