of six-cylinder diesel engines is now being undertaken at the British Motor Corporation's plant at Bathgate. The development of this aspect of the company's activities in Scotland was hinted at some time ago.
Mr. H. T. Rudd, the works manager, states that the assembly of six-cylinder commercial engines has been going through an " education " period and was in the region of 120 per week by the end of December. Mr. Rudd adds that, with men from the Midlands supervising the work, engine assembly at Bathgate will steadily increase and a production figure of 250 per week by the end of February is expected.
