MODEL TESTED/PUBLISHED:
In terms of numbers the Punto van stacks up: 510kg payload, 1.3litre 70hp multi-jet engine, 1 m3 load volume— all of which are mod figures for the class.
In the flesh it looks attractive with a modern face and decent proportions.
There's an individual and comfortable interior featuring several nice touches that raise the Punto van above your runof-the-mill cabin.
There's also a surprising amount of room for a vehicle of this size, allowing taller folk a decent driving position But like its bigger sibling the DoblO it is still overlooked for more ubiquitous marques due to long-gone previous form.
This is also reflected in residuals which, wrongly, work against it.
But what might change minds is the price, which comes in at just over -MI000 with low running costs, while minimal servicing intervals should make ownership hassle free.
