Engines: 7 0-litret/diese1,125hp/297Nm Transmission: rear-wheel drive, 5spd manual GVW: 3,50*, Wheelbases: 2,500-3,850mm Bodies: threewheelbases Load volume: chassis-cab Forward-control design offers improved load space over conventional design, but the compromise is felt in-cab where too often the layout is cramped. Subtle changes to the latest Canter have alleviated some of this, but the choice of forward control is very much a matter of horses for courses.
The latest offering from Mitsubishi Fuso at 3.5t puts the emphasis on improved cabin space and driveability. The Canter now has sufficient space for two passengers with ease, while the handling has been improved, although motorway work still requires a light touch to prevent constant steering correction.
The Euro-4 engine line-up, sees power virtually unaltered, but torque has been boosted, which will aid driveability and performance at the new emissions protocol. For Euro-4 Canter will be employing EGA.
