Engine: 3.9-litret/diesel, 143hp/412Nm Transmission: 6spd manual Chassis: 4x2; 7,500kg Wheelbases: 2,750-4,470mm MODEL liSTED/PUBUSHED: 75 29 May 2003 For some. the Far Eastern cao-over-engine arrangement will always be to the cost of interior space but the current Canter has taken great strides in improving its occupant comfort, with an enhanced driving position and seating.
But it hasn't stopped there. With better soundproof ing and the addition of a new engine and slicker gearchange, there's a user-friendliness to this Mitsubishi that has been lacking in its predecessors.
A large part of this has to be attributable to long-term investment in the product, which has tightened all the bolts and smoothed off those rough edges. What has remained. though, is the manoeuvrability ā making the 75 ideal for urban work ā along with the payload potential, thanks to its lighter than average chassis.
However, to get the best out of the Mitsubishi's abilities, it's best to stick to the smaller versions to get the balance right.
